The Carlyle
Built in 1967, The Carlyle was deemed “Chicago’s first luxury high rise.” My goal was to restore this once “gem” of a unit to its original lux essence with a holistic reconstruction of the unit to reflect current living trends. Studio Veren did a complete gut renovation and conversion of the over-sized 2200 SF apartment from a 1 bedroom to 2 bedroom unit. The interior was designed with a nod to the 60’s and leaned toward a more feminine look which resonated with the trend of home interior at that time.
The Project
The restoration was a considerable transformation from its original design, the sprawling terrace that overlooks the expansive Lake Michigan with its invisible shoreline, resembles any high rise on the coastline of the world’s most famous beaches, giving the unit its crowning feature.
